My Professor , Morgan give a presentation of Overfishing. when I saw the title of Overfishing, I just thought catching a lot of fish and It is not serious. However after presentation, I recognized we notify somebody of Overfishing that have chance to destroy our ecosystem.
I iterested in the way of catching fish. among the cathcing method . actually I don't agree with catching fish which method of poison and crowed and explosion. because all of them destroy natural environment. but some people say we need it for poor country because the can't use catching machine. if we block the catching method to poor country citizen, they won't make money. that means they depends on catching system. so the people who agree with that system for poor country people because somebody say we can't interfere them.
but I don't think of their opinoin. eventhough they can't make money, they have to think of enviroment. if we try to block that method , we have to give solution that is giving money or making a new method of catching fish or developing tourist resource. And then they try to stop bad way of catching fish.
Why do we consider of it? Because it is not only their country's problem. It is globlal problem so we need to help them. among the solution, I think developing tourist resouce is the best choice. because almost poor country's natural is so beatiful. So if they make tourist spot they can make money without catching fish.
how do you think of the best way to make block the catching system taht is bad way?
I think solving overfishing problem takes quiet long time for taking effect the law and changing public’s awareness. I think, in the short term, just legally banning on current fishing system could make chaos for both of the fishers and the customers. Government should make proper alternatives first, and then take actions. And I think developing tourist sources could be a good option for the fishers to make money. But it is not enough for the consumers who need fish to eat.
